Japan in Taiwan

Taiwanese have an affection for all things Japan, probably due to their close "history" (Japan occupying Taiwan). Here you see a Baskin Robbins inside a Matsusei supermarket (large enough to have its own parking lot) - note the Japanese writing below "Baskin Robbins".

Baskin-Robbins, however, is an American chain. In Japan they use the name "31 Ice Cream", which is what is written in Japanese in your picture.

Is Capitan the same company as Matsusei? Didn't the stores used to be called "Yumaowu"?

Hi, Thanks for the commment, and sorry for the late reply.

Yes, Baskin-Robbins being American, yet being shown in Japanese font, was part of the irony in showing the photo :).

I'm not sure about your other question though...

Thanks.
